IDEA Online - Student Ratings of Instruction
IDEA Online collects IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction system responses through an
online survey tool. Both the Diagnostic Form and Short Form are available through IDEA
Online.
Features of IDEA Online
- Four delivery options for student surveys:
- Blackboard Building Block
- Email delivery system with unique URL for each student
- Unique course URL posted on the course web page
- A combination of the above
- Student surveys restricted to one submission.
- Confidential submission of survey forms.
- Only students enrolled in the course have access to the survey.
- Ability to send automatic reminders to non-respondents – the
campus determines frequency of reminders.
- Email delivery of Faculty Information Forms (FIF).
- Allows faculty to access their FIF multiple times during the FIF administration period.
- Additional questions can be added to the student survey form.
- Institutionally defined default survey administration period for a set of courses or unique
administration period for a single course.
- Provides a summary report of student open-ended comments for each course.
- Ability to monitor real-time response rates.
Reports
Data are processed at The IDEA Center and two copies of the report,
plus a CD with PDF copies, are sent to the local On-campus Coordinator for distribution to faculty.
